Parent Information

I am so glad to have the opportunity to share this year with your child. I have spent a lot of time thinking of how wonderful our year will be this year. I am excited to have your student this school year.

Please make sure I have your email address. This is the main way I will communicate with you. I will email the newsletter weekly and I will email needed information to keep you in the loop of the classroom. If you need to contact me during the day, please email me. I have limited time I can use the phone during the day, so email is the quickest way to contact me.

Communication/Weekly Reports: Grades will be sent home regularly in a folder, but please check backpack to view your child's progress. Feel free to communicate with me about grades or class behavior. I will respond to those concerns or questions as quickly as I can. My school email address is kmangum@greenville.k12.sc.us. Please feel free to email with any questions you may have.

Homework : I will give math homework and reading homework Monday thru Thursday. The math will normally be a review/practice of what we have done in class. The reading will normally be to read 20 minutes. Other homework will include studying for assessments and reviewing lessons or vocabulary. Each child will be given a planner to write down homework assignments and upcoming due/test dates.

Discipline: Issues within the school day will be communicated to parents through written notes home, phone calls, or emails. An in class referral may be written by the teacher and sent home with your child to document the discipline issue. Three in class referrals within a nine week time frame will result in an office referral. Please contact me with any questions or concerns that you may have throughout the year.

Classroom Wish List: Our class will need the following items on a regular basis. If you are able to donate to our class these are the items we will need:

1. Post it notes

2. Sandwich and Gallon sized baggies

3. Band-aids

4. Ear buds

5. Tissue

If you can donate these items, please send them to school with your child. They will be greatly appreciated!
